Endline survey on value chain sub-Project “Promoting Ecological Farming in Char Areas for Increased Income of the Beneficiaries” of PACE project of PKSF.
The ‘Promoting Ecological Farming in Charlands’ project is a collaborative initiative of Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), implemented by Programmes for Community Development (PCD) in Bharara union under Pabna Sadar Upazila. The project is designed to promote ecological farming among small entrepreneurs, ensuring increased agricultural yield and income while maintaining a traceable food chain and producing safe, chemical-free food.
The primary goal of the project is to enhance the safety and purity of edible vegetables and their value chain while ensuring increased income for farmers and year-round availability of safe agro-products in local markets.
🚀 Project Impact and Assessment
To evaluate the project’s effectiveness, an End-line Survey was conducted to assess changes in the livelihoods, income levels, agricultural practices, and asset accumulation of beneficiaries. The study used a mix of qualitative and quantitative methods, collecting data from 203 respondents through focus group discussions, key informant interviews, and validation workshops. The findings reveal significant improvements in ecological farming practices, environmental sustainability, and economic well-being among charland farmers.
Through targeted interventions, PCD has successfully developed an eco-friendly farming system, empowering small-scale farmers with sustainable agricultural practices that contribute to a healthier environment and a safer food supply.

‘চারাঞ্চলে পরিবেশবান্ধব কৃষি উন্নয়ন’ প্রকল্পটি পল্লী কর্ম-সহায়ক ফাউন্ডেশন (পিকেএসএফ) এবং আন্তর্জাতিক কৃষি উন্নয়ন তহবিল (IFAD)-এর যৌথ উদ্যোগ, যা প্রোগ্রামস ফর কমিউনিটি ডেভেলপমেন্ট (PCD) কর্তৃক পাবনা সদর উপজেলার ভাড়ারা ইউনিয়নে বাস্তবায়িত হচ্ছে। এই প্রকল্পের লক্ষ্য পরিবেশবান্ধব কৃষি প্রযুক্তি প্রচারের মাধ্যমে উৎপাদন বৃদ্ধি ও কৃষকদের আয় বৃদ্ধি করা, পাশাপাশি নিরাপদ খাদ্য উৎপাদন ও ট্রেসেবল ফুড চেইন নিশ্চিত করা।
এই প্রকল্পের মূল উদ্দেশ্য হলো খাদ্য নিরাপত্তা ও বিশুদ্ধতার উন্নয়ন, কৃষকদের আয়ের বৃদ্ধি, এবং স্থানীয় বাজারে নিরাপদ কৃষিপণ্যের সরবরাহ নিশ্চিত করা।
🚀 প্রকল্পের প্রভাব ও মূল্যায়ন
প্রকল্পের কার্যকারিতা মূল্যায়নের জন্য এন্ডলাইন সমীক্ষা পরিচালিত হয়, যার মাধ্যমে উপকারভোগীদের জীবনযাত্রার মান, আয়-ব্যয়, কৃষি চর্চা, এবং সম্পদ বৃদ্ধি সংক্রান্ত পরিবর্তনসমূহ পর্যালোচনা করা হয়েছে। সমীক্ষায় ২০৩ জন কৃষকের সাক্ষাৎকার নেওয়া হয়, যেখানে ফোকাস গ্রুপ আলোচনা, কী-ইনফরম্যান্ট ইন্টারভিউ এবং তথ্য যাচাই কর্মশালা অন্তর্ভুক্ত ছিল।
গবেষণার ফলাফলে দেখা গেছে যে, প্রকল্পের মাধ্যমে উপকারভোগীরা উন্নত কৃষি চর্চার পাশাপাশি পরিবেশগত টেকসইতা অর্জন করেছে এবং তাদের আর্থ-সামাজিক অবস্থার উল্লেখযোগ্য উন্নতি হয়েছে। PCD-এর হস্তক্ষেপের ফলে কৃষকদের মধ্যে পরিবেশবান্ধব কৃষি পদ্ধতি জনপ্রিয় হয়েছে, যা দীর্ঘমেয়াদে নিরাপদ খাদ্য সরবরাহ ও পরিবেশ সংরক্ষণে ভূমিকা রাখবে।
