Impact Assessment of the Sub-Project “Increasing Income of Charland Entrepreneurs through Ecological Farming System Dissemination” – A value chain sub-project under Promoting Agricultural Commercialization & Enterprise (PACE), Implemented by PKSF-IFAD.
This joint initiative by the Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is implemented by SDS (Shariatpur Development Society Shariatpur District, focusing on charland areas.
The project aims to promote ecological farming among small entrepreneurs to increase crop yield and income, ensuring safe and traceable food production. The overarching goal is to enhance food safety and purity while strengthening the value chain of edible vegetables. This initiative helps increase farmers’ income, provide year-round access to safe agro-products, and benefit local consumers.

An end-line survey was conducted in the project areas with 360 respondents, using focus group discussions, key informant interviews, and statistical sampling methods. The study highlights the positive impact on beneficiaries’ income, agricultural practices, and overall well-being.
This project plays a vital role in sustainable agriculture and environmental conservation, ensuring a healthier and more secure food system for future generations.

পল্লী কর্ম-সহায়ক ফাউন্ডেশন (PKSF) এবং আন্তর্জাতিক কৃষি উন্নয়ন তহবিল (IFAD) এর যৌথ উদ্যোগে SDS (Shariatpur Development Society কর্তৃক শরিয়তপুর জেলার চরাঞ্চলে এই প্রকল্প বাস্তবায়ন করা হচ্ছে।
এই প্রকল্পের মূল উদ্দেশ্য হল ক্ষুদ্র উদ্যোক্তাদের মধ্যে পরিবেশবান্ধব কৃষির প্রসার, যাতে ফসলের উৎপাদন ও আয় বৃদ্ধি পায় এবং ট্রেসেবল ফুড চেইন ও নিরাপদ খাদ্য উৎপাদনের নীতিমালা মেনে চলা নিশ্চিত হয়। এর মাধ্যমে নিরাপদ ও বিশুদ্ধ শাকসবজি উৎপাদন ও বাজার ব্যবস্থার উন্নয়ন করা হয়, যাতে কৃষকের আয় বৃদ্ধি এবং স্থানীয় বাজারে নিরাপদ কৃষি পণ্যের প্রবাহ নিশ্চিত হয়।

একটি চূড়ান্ত মূল্যায়ন জরিপ পরিচালিত হয় ৩৬০ জন উপকারভোগীর উপর, যেখানে ফোকাস গ্রুপ আলোচনা, মূল তথ্য প্রদানকারীদের সাক্ষাৎকার এবং পরিসংখ্যান বিশ্লেষণের মাধ্যমে প্রকল্পের প্রভাব মূল্যায়ন করা হয়েছে। গবেষণার ফলাফল দেখায় যে প্রকল্পটি কৃষকদের জীবনমান, আয়ের স্থিতিশীলতা এবং কৃষি উৎপাদন ব্যবস্থার উপর ইতিবাচক প্রভাব ফেলেছে।
