Recognizing the transformative potential of digital technologies in agriculture, this vital project, under the USAID-funded Digital Frontiers Program and in support of the Feed the Future Bangladesh Digital Agriculture Activity, focuses on building gender-sensitive digital literacy capacity among farmers and agricultural value chain actors in Bangladesh. To effectively design targeted interventions, a comprehensive survey and Training Needs Assessment (TNA) were conducted across the Feed the Future zone. This in-depth analysis engaged crop, aquaculture, and livestock farmers to understand their current knowledge and usage of mobile phones (both smartphones and feature phones) and various digital tools. These tools include agricultural applications, Mobile Financial Services (MFS), social media platforms, and other relevant devices used in agricultural production and marketing processes. The insights gained from this survey are instrumental in developing tailored training modules and learning materials that address the specific needs and challenges faced by diverse stakeholders, ultimately fostering greater digital inclusion and efficiency within Bangladesh’s agricultural sector.
কৃষিতে ডিজিটাল প্রযুক্তির রূপান্তরমূলক সম্ভাবনাকে স্বীকৃতি দিয়ে, ইউএসএআইডি-এর অর্থায়নে পরিচালিত ডিজিটাল ফ্রন্টিয়ার্স প্রোগ্রামের অধীনে এবং ফিড দ্য ফিউচার বাংলাদেশ ডিজিটাল এগ্রিকালচার অ্যাক্টিভিটির সহায়তায় এই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ প্রকল্পটি বাংলাদেশের কৃষক এবং কৃষি ভেল্যু চেইন অ্যাক্টরদের মধ্যে লিঙ্গ-সংবেদনশীল ডিজিটাল সাক্ষরতা সক্ষমতা বৃদ্ধির উপর দৃষ্টি নিবদ্ধ করে। কার্যকর ও সুনির্দিস্ট ডিজাইন করার জন্য, ফিড দ্য ফিউচার জোন জুড়ে একটি ব্যাপক জরিপ এবং প্রশিক্ষণ চাহিদা মূল্যায়ন (টিএনএ) পরিচালনা করা হয়েছে। এই গভীরতর বিশ্লেষণে ফসল, মৎস্য এবং প্রাণিসম্পদ কৃষকদের এবং ভেল্যু চেইন অ্যাক্টরদের তাঁদের বর্তমান জ্ঞান এবং মোবাইল ফোন (স্মার্টফোন এবং ফিচার ফোন উভয়ই) এবং বিভিন্ন ডিজিটাল সরঞ্জাম ব্যবহারের বিষয়ে জানার জন্য অন্তর্ভুক্ত করা হয়েছে। এই সরঞ্জামগুলির মধ্যে রয়েছে কৃষি অ্যাপ্লিকেশন, মোবাইল আর্থিক পরিষেবা (এমএফএস), সোশ্যাল মিডিয়া প্ল্যাটফর্ম এবং কৃষি উৎপাদন ও বিপণন প্রক্রিয়ায় ব্যবহৃত অন্যান্য প্রাসঙ্গিক ডিভাইস। এই জরিপ থেকে প্রাপ্ত ফলাফলসমূহ উপযুক্ত প্রশিক্ষণ মডিউল এবং শিক্ষণ উপকরণ তৈরি করতে সহায়ক হিসেবে কাজ করেছে যা বিভিন্ন স্টেকহোল্ডারদের নির্দিষ্ট চাহিদা এবং চ্যালেঞ্জগুলি মোকাবিলা করার জন্য উপযোগী হিসেবে কাজ করেছে। এর ফলে, বাংলাদেশের কৃষি খাতে বৃহত্তর ডিজিটাল অন্তর্ভুক্তি এবং দক্ষতা বৃদ্ধি করার জন্য সহায়ক হয়েছে।
