DevMaker Consulting conducted a baseline study for the Sustainable Enterprise Project (SEP), a collaborative initiative between Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) and the World Bank. This project aims to promote environmentally sustainable practices among microenterprises. Our study focused on the vegetable sub-sector in Sadarpur, Charvodrason, and Madhukhali of Faridpur district in Bangladesh. The sub-project, implemented by the Society Development Committee (SDC), seeks to empower 800 micro-entrepreneur vegetable growers through technical and financial support, facilitating the adoption of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) to meet the demands of the high-end urban market. This intervention is expected to enhance income, improve livelihoods, create employment opportunities, and foster environmentally responsible agricultural production within the targeted communities. The baseline study provides critical data on the current business, economic, environmental, and climatic conditions of these micro-entrepreneurs, enabling future evaluation of the project's impact.

ডেভমেকার কনসাল্টিং পল্লী কর্ম-সহায়ক ফাউন্ডেশন (পিকেএসএফ) এবং বিশ্ব ব্যাংকের যৌথ উদ্যোগে বাস্তবায়িত টেকসই উদ্যোগ প্রকল্পের (এসইপি) জন্য একটি ভিত্তিলাইন সমীক্ষা পরিচালনা করেছে। এই প্রকল্পের লক্ষ্য হল ক্ষুদ্র ও মাঝারি শিল্পে পরিবেশগতভাবে টেকসই অনুশীলন বৃদ্ধি করা। আমাদের সমীক্ষাটি বাংলাদেশের ফরিদপুর জেলার সদরপুর, চরভদ্রাসন ও মধুখালী উপজেলার সবজি উপ-খাতের উপর আলোকপাত করে। সোসাইটি ডেভেলপমেন্ট কমিটি (এসডিসি) কর্তৃক বাস্তবায়িত এই উপ-প্রকল্পের মাধ্যমে ৮০০ জন ক্ষুদ্র সবজি চাষীকে প্রযুক্তিগত ও আর্থিক সহায়তা প্রদান করা হবে, যা উচ্চ-সম্পন্ন শহুরে বাজারের চাহিদা পূরণে উত্তম কৃষি পদ্ধতি (GAP) গ্রহণে সহায়ক হবে। এই হস্তক্ষেপের মাধ্যমে আয় বৃদ্ধি, জীবনযাত্রার উন্নতি, কর্মসংস্থান সৃষ্টি এবং লক্ষ্যভুক্ত জনগোষ্ঠীর মধ্যে পরিবেশগতভাবে দায়িত্বশীল কৃষি উৎপাদন উৎসাহিত করা হবে বলে আশা করা যায়। এই ভিত্তিলাইন সমীক্ষা এই ক্ষুদ্র উদ্যোক্তাদের বর্তমান ব্যবসা, অর্থনীতি, পরিবেশ এবং জলবায়ু পরিস্থিতি সম্পর্কে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ তথ্য সরবরাহ করে, যা ভবিষ্যতে প্রকল্পের প্রভাব মূল্যায়নে সহায়ক হবে।
